Recently I have had so much more time to myself to draw and write. I have been taking every opportunity to get new work up onto DeviantArt as often as possible.
Last year I stopped using 'Learn to draw' books and began just practising my drawing until I finally ended up here at this point. I think I have finally found my own style, and have really begun to relish what I am able to draw.
Learning from mistakes of the past has been a real experience, with my own use of PaintShopPro driving me insane on Damask - Warrior Priest (found in my Gallery...go look, I won't mind! lol) I made sure this time with this picture that my inked lines were smooth, unbroken and distinct, making recolouring much easier for anyone willing to give it a go.
I have found that these mistakes would have been nice to avoid, but only one out of the drawing books made any kind of mention of this, but it was only in passing.
While I am here leaving a message in this journal, I would like to give a shout out to other artists whose work I have admired recently

The work of these artists/writers has been inspiring to me. There are so many other artists whose work I have seen recently that have also inspired me, but these are the stand outs for this journal entry.
Albynism's' work 'You Want Fries with That' just totally blew me away with the quality, precision and realism in the work. Jewellery, facial expression, spills on his shirt, all are so realistic in their portrayal and addition.
Pickleweasels' Full Metal Alchemist fanfiction is her best work to date that she has posted up on DeviantArt. Yaoi may not be your thing, you have been warned. If you do not know what Yaoi is, then it is best you do not go look
Takeru-sans a comic genius. His work can convey emotion and vibrance, as well as humour it can provide a deeply spiritual or political moment, but it was an older deviation that originally drew me to his work. Enough words...go look!
Neowolf's sprites are both funny and well executed. Every one is more detailed than the last. He also makes stamps, and has a kiriban on offer at 10K page views.
Amersill's photos are just amazing. I have the one of the tiny ladybug crawling across dangerous territory; a spiked stem on a flower. Sheer brilliance and much can be read from the simple idea. Her sunset photography is breathtaking!
Well that is it from me for now...
